Marilyn Baldi

A Native of New Jersey, Marilyn Baldi has been involved in the visual and performing arts all of her life. She incorporated these early interests into her teaching programs for gifted and talented students. After experimenting with different media over several decades, she began to appreciate the innumerable possibilities that the camera can provide. A traveler at heart and soul, her award winning photography represents an eclectic style which encompasses a myriad of interests, curiosity, and humor.

Her works in several media have been exhibited in many venues. In acrylics, murals for Brookdale Community College and in the town of Belmar are part of permanent displays. In late 2008, Marilyn began studying photography with the prominent photographer and author Laury Egan. Since 2009, Marilyn has been displaying her images in various exhibit spaces throughout the area. Her images are in private collections in several states and in New Zealand and India. ìBut Not Forgottenî is on permanent display at McGuire Air Force Base, the Keyport NJ Elks Club, and the Center for World War II Studies and Conflict Resolution at Brookdale Community College. ìBare Footinî is installed at the Central Jersey Blood Bank. Her most recent award is the Best in Monochrome at the 11th Annual Eyesights Photography Show at the Guild of Creative Art.

Artist Statement
Once a means of recording my geographic and emotional travels, photography has become an avenue for my educational and inspirational journeys. Photography has invited me to pause along these paths to take a second look, a closer look, an introspective look. Photography has allowed me to capture what is newly seen and felt; to revisit and share those images.

I have learned to appreciate manís accomplishments and have been inspired by natureís infinite variety and beauty. I wish to capture the choreography of light, color, texture and form that ìdanceî to the music and rhythms of time and of the seasons.
